Answers to all of your frequently asked questions about the Museum.
There is no time limit on your visit once you pay admission. However, most guests take between an hour to an hour and a half to see the Museum. The Museum also extends outside to our Victory Garden and Rolling Stock which includes two engines, a caboose and multiple cars. Be sure to save time to visit our Whistle Stop Railroad Gift Shop for souvenirs and gifts!
We encourage you to explore our website for all the details or watch the Saving a National Historic Landmark video on Youtube to hear about the restoration of our 1873 Depot and how we became a National Historic Landmark.
Our 1873 Historic Depot is handicap accessible with an entrance at the back of the building and no steps located inside. Visitors will be able to access the Depot Lobby, Gift Shop and multiple rooms inside the Museum including the Waiting Room, the Theater, the Baggage Room, the Model Train Room and two additional exhibit spaces. The Museum wing of train cars does have a ramp leading into them, but going through the train cars can get narrow and wheelchairs may not fit through as they are vintage coach cars remodeled into exhibits.
